Schoonover Park

This 69 acre park was donated to the city of Lima in 1937 by Thomas R. Schoonover. Schoonover Park provides many amenities for the recreational visitor. Featuring a 25-acre lake that is stocked annually (fishing allowed WITH A LICENSE), two shelter houses, kayaks for rent to the public, basketball courts, a playground, plenty of greenspace, a paved walking trail around the lake, the newly renovated island in recognition of our armed forces, and Lima's only observatory, Schoonover Park remains a destination for many visitors of Lima. Schoonover Park is located on the east side of town along Findlay Road.
